A fifth century stone inscription, the oldest to be discovered in Nepal, is located in the temple compound and it tells of the victorious King Mandev. The temple now covers sixteen hundred years of Nepalese art history. The temple, built around the third century, is decorated by some of the best samples of stone, wood, and metal craft in the Valley.  It’s listed as one of the world heritage site by UNESCO.

The Lichchhavi period (2nd to 9th Century AD) settlement of Shankhu lies on the northeastern corner of the Kathmandu Valley on the ancient trade route to Tibet. The traditional Newari settlement still retains its medieval character with narrow streets, public squares with in dispersed tiered temples and rest houses.
After taking a drink or taking the picnic if we are hungry, we start going up to Nagarkot.
We will walk crossing small villages and we can enjoy the terraces where farmers are growing vegetables and after 3 -4 hours we will arrive to our hotel in Nagarkot
